{inside message}
i can't think
of anyone else
i'd rather be, mom.
and today,
on mother's day,
i just had to tell you.
i spent most of my teenage years
thinking that my mom and i
couldn't be more different.
but then in my twenties
things changed--
i changed.
at first,
i shrugged off little signs
that we might be
more alike than different.
but later, i began to look for,
and appreciate,
these similarities
for the gifts that they are.
now, i can't imagine anything better
than being my mother's daughter.
