my friends and i

have walked

different paths in life.

 

some of us had our children

we when we were younger,

and others are just beginning their families.

 

some of us stayed close to home,

and a handful of others

have made new homes

in faraway places.

 

but whenever we're together,

none of that matters

because we're the same friends

we've always been.
